Compact 1/48 replica of the U.S. Light Tank M5A1 Stuart

The Tamiya 32606 1/48 scale model recreates the M5A1 Stuart in a tidy, display-ready size. Favoured for reconnaissance and light combat in World War II, the M5A1 improved on the M3 Stuart with twin V8 petrol engines and could reach speeds up to 58 km/h. This kit aims to capture the character of the original vehicle for collectors and model builders.

The kit reflects the M5A1's welded hull and sloped armour and recreates the updated turret with its 37mm gun plus the 7.62mm machine gun mount. Details such as track grousers are modelled, underlining the Stuart's service across North Africa, Italy and the Western Front.

Parts include newly moulded front and upper hull sections and a separately modelled turret, with realistic weld lines and cast surface textures. One-piece straight section tracks are supplied and the kit contains a commander torso with binoculars. Two decal options represent vehicles from the 3rd Armored Division, enabling a Western Front July 1944 finish.
