The Tamiya 1/48 scale Challenger 2 model gives scale modellers a chance to recreate a modern British main battle tank with authentic detail. Famous for service with the 7th Armoured Brigade during the 2003 Iraq campaign, the full-size vehicle shares an engine lineage with the Challenger 1 and is known for its double-pin track layout and distinctive turret profile.
This kit reproduces characteristic elements such as canvas skirts, a square muffler cover and combat identification panels. The main gun can be posed for genuine elevation changes, while fine weld lines and realistic side skirt textures add to the kit's modelling appeal.
The model features a plastic chassis with assembly-type tracks supplied as one-piece straight sections for easier fitting. A weighted metal chassis plate gives the completed model a satisfying heft for display. The kit also includes a commander torso figure and markings to depict a vehicle from the 2003 Iraq operation.
