The Russian KV-1 heavy tank earned a reputation in WWII for its thick armour and punchy armament. This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya reproduces the tank's defining traits, including the 76.2mm main gun and the square welded turret, giving modellers an authentic small-scale representation for display or diorama use.
The KV-1 entered service in the late 1930s and was noted for its heavy protection against period anti-tank weapons. Although production changed after 1941, the KV-1 remained in frontline and support roles through much of the war. This release reflects the 1940 configuration to complement historical collections.
The Tamiya 32535 kit includes a diecast chassis to add weight and a realistic feel. Tracks are supplied as straight, single-piece components for straightforward assembly. Three decal sets let builders represent different field markings, and the kit pairs well with the Tamiya 1/48 WWII Russian Infantry and Tank Crew Set for action scenes.
