The Japanese Light Cruiser Yahagi was part of the Agano-class and played a notable role in mid 20th century naval operations. Laid down in 1939 and finished in December 1943, Yahagi took part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and later sailed with the battleship Yamato during the Okinawa operation.
