The Japanese Light Cruiser Yahagi was part of the Agano-class and played a notable role in mid 20th century naval operations. Laid down in 1939 and finished in December 1943, Yahagi took part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and later sailed with the battleship Yamato during the Okinawa operation. This Tamiya 31315 kit recreates the Yahagi's key characteristics, including the two quadruple torpedo launchers and the increased anti-aircraft armament seen in her final configuration.
This 1/700 scale model offers fine exterior detailing and a finished length of 247mm, making it a compact but accurate display piece. The parts represent the ship's wartime fittings, and small metal components are included to improve realism and balance for display. Waterslide decals and clear pictorial instructions help streamline assembly for hobbyists who enjoy precise model work.
