The Tamiya 1/700 scale model of the IJN Musashi captures the silhouette and surface detail of one of World War II's largest battleships. Built to reflect the real vessel named for Musashi Province, this kit reproduces the ship that operated alongside Yamato and stood out for its heavy armament and size.
Musashi was constructed in the period 1938 to 1941 and entered service in 1942, seeing command under Admirals Isoroku Yamamoto and Mineichi Koga. The ship was active through 1943 during operations and air attack responses, and the model conveys the engineering scale that made Musashi historically notable.
The Tamiya kit focuses on an accurately modelled hull and deck fittings, with options for multiple gun assemblies. Builders will find cranes, flags, unassembled float planes, lifeboats and a small metal flotation detail included. A full-colour instruction sheet explains painting schemes and decal placement, with waterslide decals and pictorial assembly guidance to help finishers.
