The British Universal Carrier Mk.II was a widely used support vehicle in World War II, seeing service from North Africa to mainland Europe. This 1/48 scale example from Tamiya captures the vehicle's practical form and historical role, reflecting the design that led to tens of thousands of units being produced.
This finished piece depicts a carrier from the 2nd Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry of the 3rd Infantry Division in Europe. It is supplied fully assembled so collectors can position it straight from the box. At 80mm long, the model slots neatly into small dioramas or on a hobby shelf.
High quality pad printed markings and decals give a faithful appearance to period insignia. A light weathering wash is applied to suggest operational wear, and a spin-cast metal weight improves balance and realism. The package also includes a driver figure to add a human touch to the display.
