This 1/35 scale Tamiya model of the Israeli M51 recreates a notable Cold War era vehicle with careful attention to proportions and surface detail. The M51, adapted from the M4A1 Sherman in the early 1960s, earned recognition for its 105mm gun and service during the Six Day War of 1967.
The real M51 combined a lengthened turret and a 105mm main gun on a Sherman hull, powered by a roughly 460hp diesel engine and fitted with HVSS suspension for improved ride and traction. These technical elements are reflected in the kit to help modellers present an accurate historical representation.
The kit includes photo-etched components that raise the level of fine detail, suited to modellers comfortable with delicate parts and precise assembly. Parts are engineered for accurate fit; glue and paint are required to finish the model for display or diorama use.
