The Tamiya 25147 kit faithfully represents the P-51D Mustang flown by the Tuskegee Airmen, bringing the story of the pioneering African-American fighter pilots into a compact 1/48 scale build. These aviators, often called the Red-Tail Angels, were part of the 332nd Fighter Group and earned a reputation for skilled bomber escort missions over Europe.
This model captures the P-51D's profile and mechanical features with care. The finished model measures 205mm long with a 236mm wingspan and includes cockpit detailing and the characteristic radiator assembly. Builders get three authentic marking options and canopy masking stickers for cleaner paintwork, plus a seated pilot figure to complete display scenes.
