The Austin Mini Cooper 1275S Mk.I has been faithfully recreated by Tamiya in a 1/24 scale model kit that highlights the compact, clever layout of the original. The model echoes the Mini's compact two-box design, independent suspension and characteristic 10-inch wheels while giving modellers a tidy, accurate build.
The 1275S Mk.I was the highpoint of the Cooper programme in the 1960s and Tamiya's kit reflects that motorsport heritage. With a 1275cc engine in the original cars, the Mini competed strongly in events like the Monte Carlo Rally and earned notable victories that cemented its reputation.
This Tamiya kit includes chrome-plated parts for the grille and trim, and a detailed 4-cylinder engine visible under a hinged bonnet for display. Metal transfer emblems recreate front and rear badges, and the finished model measures about 129mm long and 58mm wide, making it a neat display piece for shelves or dioramas.
