The Toyota GT-One TS020 is one of endurance racing's standout cars, best known for its bid at the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans. Racing on the Circuit de la Sarthe, the GT-One combined lightweight carbon fiber composite bodywork with a potent 3600cc V8 twin-turbo R36V engine to compete at the highest level. A late-race tyre failure cost it a shot at victory, but the car still finished strongly and cemented its place in motorsport lore.
Tamiya's 1/24 scale kit captures the GT-One's aerodynamic silhouette with careful attention to the nose, diffuser and overall body flow. The assembly includes a removable rear cowl so model builders can show off the finely modelled V8 twin-turbo engine after finishing the build.
This kit is suited to hobbyists who enjoy detailed assembly and painting. It comes with decals for two different race numbers and masking seals to help produce crisp paint lines. Once completed, the model makes an eye-catching display piece that celebrates a memorable Le Mans effort.
