Recreating the avex Dome Mugen NSX

The Tamiya 24193 - 1/24 avex Dome Mugen NSX kit lets model makers reproduce one of the standout entries from the 1997 Japanese GT Car Championship. Originating from the Honda NSX via the "mugen + Dome Project", the real car used a lightweight aluminium monocoque with an integrated roll cage and carbon fibre bodywork to improve aero performance. The model reflects the car's profile, including the front spoiler, canard wings and prominent rear wing developed through wind tunnel work.

In reality the NSX was fitted with a 3,450cc V6 developed by Mugen producing over 450 horsepower. While the kit does not replicate the running engine, it provides a faithful engine bay representation plus a detailed cockpit and under-chassis detail that reward careful assembly. The distinctive blue livery and decal set are reproduced as waterslide transfers to match the race car's look.
