The Calsonic Skyline GT-R occupies a celebrated spot in Japanese racing history, especially during the JGTC era that began in 1993. It took on top-level competition from both domestic rivals and high-end European sports cars, and its race-bred engineering is a core part of its appeal.
Beneath the bodywork the GT-R featured a 2568cc inline six with twin turbochargers, producing around 450 horsepower. Power was routed through an X-Trac sequential 6-speed gearbox, and the suspension layout drew on Nissan's Group C race technology to give the car its track performance.
Tamiya's 1/24 rendition lets builders recreate the Calsonic GT-R with finely molded plastic components and a detailed cockpit that includes a roll cage. Chassis and suspension parts are engineered to mirror the original race car, providing a satisfying assembly and an accurate display model.
The distinctive blue livery and prominent rear wing make this kit a standout on a shelf or in a display case. Builders who appreciate period JGTC machines will value the accurate detailing and the model's strong presentation potential.
