The Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 959 model kit gives hobbyists a chance to assemble a faithful miniature of one of the most advanced supercars of its time. First shown at the 1983 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Porsche 959 combined race-derived systems with road car comfort. This kit reflects the 959s history, including its competition presence at events like the Paris-Dakar Rally and the Le Mans 24 Hour Race.
The road-going Porsche 959 featured a 2848cc flat-six engine with air and liquid cooling, DOHC valvetrain and twin turbochargers, allowing top speeds above 300 km/h while remaining tractable on regular roads. The Tamiya kit reproduces the cars mechanical character in miniature for builders who appreciate period engineering.
Parts are supplied unassembled on sprue trees, primarily molded in silver with clear components for glazing. The kit includes full engine detail, authentic suspension and interior fittings, steerable front wheels and a rear spoiler. Hollow wheel spokes and low-profile tyre profiles are replicated to enhance display realism.
