The Tamiya DCR-01 presents a fresh take on Mini 4WD body engineering with a three-piece shell for flexible visual setups. The kit separates front and rear cowl parts and offers an optional canopy so builders can mix looks. Designer Yamazaki Takayuki specified a pearl red finish and metallic decal accents to balance looks with function.
Owners can customise the DCR-01 by fitting additional body parts sold separately, available in a range of colours. Mixing and matching panels gives racers distinct colour schemes and improved on-track presence.
The DCR-01 sits on the MA (Midship AERO) chassis, which places the motor centrally to prioritise balance and airflow. The platform includes six low-friction rollers and a rear skid bar to help stability at speed. Its monocoque frame reduces assembly steps and simplifies maintenance for all skill levels.
The MA chassis is moulded in white to complement bright body colours. The drivetrain uses a 4:1 gear ratio and the car runs on large diameter, 6-spoke wheels with low-profile tyres to suit a variety of circuit layouts.
The Tamiya DCR-01 combines an inventive three-piece body with the proven MA chassis, making it a flexible pick for club racers and collectors who like to tune aesthetics and handling.
