Overview of the Tamiya 18607 Nitro Thunder MS Chassis

The Tamiya 18607 Nitro Thunder brings Mini 4WD racers a compact chassis that focuses on balance and adaptability. The MS chassis uses a mid-ship motor layout, locating the batteries either side of the motor to keep the center of gravity even. Its three detachable sections let builders swap parts quickly to suit different track layouts and racing styles, while the ABS plastic body echoes the styling and toughness of Nitro Thunder and Nitro Force buggies.

MS Chassis Layout and Drive

The Nitro Thunder's MS platform houses a newly designed double shaft motor that drives both front and rear wheels directly. By removing the propeller shaft requirement, the setup improves drivetrain efficiency and straight line speed. The modular chassis pieces are replaceable, which makes it straightforward to tune drive characteristics for competitive runs.

Tuning and Parts Compatibility

This Mini 4WD is compatible with a broad selection of Tamiya tune-up parts and accessories, allowing racers to focus on speed, cornering, or stability depending on the circuit. The design supports common performance upgrades used in timed and club racing.
