Classic Honda Monkey 125 rendered in 1/12 scale

The Honda Monkey has charmed riders since 1967 with its compact, playful styling. This Tamiya 1/12 scale model recreates the Monkey 125 with careful tooling and accurate proportions, making it a rewarding build for hobbyists who enjoy classic two wheeler replicas.

Accurate styling and model level detail

The kit reflects the Honda Monkey 125 design, including a representation of the larger 124cc engine while keeping the small-bike character intact. Key visual touches include chunky tyres, a round headlamp and speedometer, plus chrome plated fender and muffler finishes that replicate the real bike's look.

Assembly notes and showcase readiness

Construction uses screw-mounted elements for a secure frame connection, with separate parts for the engine, swing arm, front fork and rear fender. Metal plated components provide authentic shine, while clear parts, damper springs, vinyl tubing and decals add realism. The finished model measures 142mm long, 63mm wide and 86mm tall, making it a compact display piece for shelves or dioramas.

WOW! The Tamiya kit I ordered arrived at my address in Texas within 5 days from order date. Packaging was excellent, with protection via a styrofoam shell and waterproof plastic exterior wrapping. Couldn't be more pleased! RC JAZ will be my first choi
This kit is approachable for builders with some basic modelling experience. It has small parts and requires careful gluing and painting, so beginners should take their time and follow the instructions.
Paints and modelling tools are not included. You will want fine brushes, plastic cement, hobby knives and hobby paints matched to the original bike for the best finish.
Yes. Once assembled and painted, the model is compact and sturdy enough for display on a shelf or in a display case with minimal extra work.
