The Tamiya 12630 - 1/350 Degaussing Cable Set gives model makers the fine wiring and etched parts needed to replicate degaussing systems used on WWII Japanese warships. Magnetic mines and torpedoes were a real threat in the period, and degaussing wiring was fitted to many vessels to reduce their magnetic signature.
From 1941 onward the Japanese Navy fitted ships with degaussing circuits to disrupt magnetic fields and lower the risk from magnetic mines. Adding these fittings to a scale model improves historical accuracy and highlights an often overlooked aspect of naval technology.
The set contains photo-etched components plus general-purpose straight cables so you can portray the degaussing arrangements on 1/350 ships. These parts allow careful modellers to reproduce the routing and anchoring points seen on period vessels.
