The Serpent Viper 990R continues Serpent's progress in 1/8th scale GP racing, building on the 990 EVO with focused improvements. Key updates include a redesigned chassis, an improved fuel tank that frees up room for larger batteries, and reinforced rear bulkheads for better durability and predictable handling.
The updated chassis improves balance and on-track feel by stiffening the rear section and removing excess cutouts. The new fuel tank design supports larger battery fitment without complicating installation. Redesigned rear bulkheads and anti-roll bar mounts make setup and maintenance faster and more straightforward.
A one-piece shaft in the 2-speed gearbox increases reliability and features an extra groove for accurate bearing placement. The bumper accepts carbon stiffeners and body supports to tune stiffness. Front upper arm bushings deliver more consistent caster settings and side stiffeners improve torsional control.
The 5mm chassis plate machined from 7075 T6 aluminum offers a measured flex characteristic and well balanced weight distribution. The front anti-roll bar is easily adjusted and the pivot ball link system simplifies suspension tuning. The model includes durable wishbones, shock mount plates, and pivot pin inserts for camber and caster tuning.
