Made with Serpent racers in mind, the Serpent 903601 aluminium CVD driveshaft set is built for 1/18 scale machines like the 966 and 977. Machined from hard-anodized 7075-T6 aluminium, each shaft is laser-engraved with its length and the Serpent logo for easy identification and consistent fitment.
These aluminium driveshafts cut rotating weight by roughly 50% compared to spring-steel versions, reducing inertia for faster initial acceleration and sharper braking response. The front set weighs about 7.15 grams and the rear set about 7.80 grams, making them a sensible upgrade for improving lap times in short runs.
Because aluminium is lighter but not as tough as spring steel, these shafts are best used during qualifying or short timed runs where weight reduction matters most. For longer mains or rough conditions, return to spring-steel driveshafts to preserve reliability and avoid failures.
