The Serpent Viper 977 EVO captures the high points of 1/8 scale on-road design, built from decades of Serpent development. This model revisits the touring car formula with modern engineering and race-oriented detailing.
Central to the Viper 977 EVO is a purpose-machined chassis made from 7075 T6 aerospace-quality aluminum. That alloy gives a balance of stiffness and light mass crucial for lap consistency. The chassis uses a tuned flex concept so racers can dial handling to suit different tracks, and a carbon fiber radioplate paired with an aluminum mid-flex layer sharpens steering feedback and balance.
The drivetrain features the two-speed SL8 XLi gearbox with very low inertia for smooth transitions and long service life. Serpent's Centax true motion clutch system provides dependable engagement for competitive runs.
Suspension comes as independent double wishbones with RCM hydraulic shock absorbers, enabling fine adjustments to camber, caster and toe. That setup helps drivers set up predictable grip and consistent tyre wear over race distances.
Design updates include a front bumper with removable inserts for quick aero tweaks and a reinforced rear body mount that offers extra mounting holes for tuning. The front track has been narrowed to improve turn-in response while lightweight parts throughout lower the overall mass and improve agility.
The Serpent Viper 977 EVO suits experienced racers who need a platform that is both downloadable for tuning and built for high performance in competitive fields.
