The Serpent SRX8GT R builds on the SRX8GT '23 platform with a clear mission to raise lap pace. Andrea Catanzani and Roberto provided practical setup input that led to targeted changes in suspension geometry, transmission layout, and overall adjustability, preserving the GT '23 reliability while sharpening on-track performance.
The in-line drivetrain is a central improvement, boosting transmission efficiency and simplifying power flow. To accommodate this layout the chassis was reworked into a 4mm composite platform that balances stiffness and flex without side dams. For teams wanting a different flex profile a 3mm optional chassis is available.
The SRX8GT R features a narrower track and revised roll centre interactions to improve turn-in and mid-corner balance. New suspension brackets expand setup range, allowing precise adjustments such as inboard toe and anti-squat to suit varied track tarmac and competitor preferences.
The 2-speed shaft assembly now supports weighted shoe options to refine shift timing and consistency, plus added clips to reduce gearbox lock-up risk. Bulkheads use carbon-filled ultra-stiff composite for improved drivetrain behaviour, with aluminium versions offered for alternative stiffness choices.
The Serpent SRX8GT R suits competitive drivers who prioritise adjustability and predictable handling. Its blend of drivetrain efficiency and setup options makes it a solid choice for GT class racing.
