Track-focused chassis and drivetrain for serious racing

The Serpent Spyder SRX4 is a purpose-built 1/10 scale 4WD buggy that balances strength and adjustability for circuit use. Its aluminum 7075 T6 hard-coated chassis combined with a dual belt-driven layout gives racers a predictable platform across dirt, clay, grass, astro and carpet surfaces.

Chassis build and protection

The SRX4 uses a 2.5mm hard-coated aluminum 7075 T6 chassis plate with composite side plates to keep torsional rigidity high while controlling weight. A composite central spline doubles as a stiffener and shields the front belt from debris to reduce belt skips during competitive running.

Durable drive and differential setup

The dual belt drive is reinforced with Kevlar for longevity, featuring a fully captured front belt and an open side belt to help shed track debris. The combination of a slipper clutch and oil-filled gear differentials allows fine tuning of traction and power transfer to suit different racing lines.

Shock package and damping choices

Big bore 12mm hard-coated shock absorbers work with carbon fibre shock towers to deliver consistent damping and chassis control. The shocks accept emulsion or membrane layouts so you can tune rebound and midstroke feel to match track conditions.

Setup flexibility and drivetrain reliability

Adjustable steering geometry and a range of setup options for both front and rear let drivers dial handling for their style. Robust spring steel CVD drive shafts and wheel axles provide dependable strength under sustained racing loads.

The Serpent Spyder SRX4 is well suited to competitive racers who want a tunable, durable platform with straightforward service points and upgrade potential. It performs consistently across a wide range of surfaces for club and regional competition.

The kit is modular and well engineered for straightforward assembly, but basic experience with 1/10 scale builds helps. Take time to read the manual and set up gear mesh and belt tension carefully.
You will need a motor, ESC, servo, receiver and a battery pack sized for 1/10 buggies. Choose components that fit the chassis mounting points and are matched for your preferred racing power and runtime.
Keep belts tensioned per the manual, inspect for fraying, and remove debris after each race. Periodically check pulleys and bearings for wear to avoid skipped teeth or uneven drive.
Typical upgrades include different shock springs and oils, hop-up alloy shock towers, and tuned differentials. Choose upgrades that match track grip and your driving style.
