High output performance from the O.S. Engine OSMG1951 50SX-H

If you fly RC helicopters and demand strong, lightweight power, the O.S. Engine OSMG1951 50SX-H Ringed Hyper is built to satisfy sport and 3D pilots. Its design focuses on an improved power-to-weight ratio so you get more thrust without adding bulk, ideal for pushing your heli into aggressive flight envelopes.

Compact package with increased thrust

The Ringed Hyper version produces greater power than the earlier 50SX-H while keeping mass low, enabling faster rotor speeds and sharper control responses. It installs in the same footprint as a .30-size unit, giving model builders easy fitment options.

60LH carburetor for broader throttle control

Fitted with the 60LH carburetor featuring a 1.5 mm larger bore, the engine expands usable power and throttle smoothness. Pilots can expect a practical RPM band from 2,000-20,000, supporting a wide variety of flight styles.

Specifications

  • Displacement: 0.499 cu in (8.17 cc)
  • Bore: 0.866 in (22 mm)
  • Stroke: 0.847 in (21.5 mm)
  • Practical RPM: 2,000-20,000
  • Output: 1.9 hp @ 17,000 rpm
  • Weight: 14.3 oz (406 g)
  • Includes: 60LH carburetor, #8 glow plug
  • Requires: muffler, drive hub

For experienced pilots upgrading power on mid-size machines, the O.S. Engine 50SX-H Ringed Hyper strikes a solid balance between output and weight, and works well in .30-size installations.

The Ringed Hyper version focuses on increased horsepower and reduced weight compared to the standard 50SX-H, which helps achieve higher rotor RPM and crisper maneuvering.
It is best suited to pilots who have solid stick time and understand tuning; novices may find its performance demanding until they are comfortable with setup and throttle management.
You will need a compatible muffler and a drive hub to complete installation. Check your airframe for mounting hardware and alignment before final fitment.
The engine shares the footprint of common .30-size applications, but confirm gearbox, clutch and cooling clearances on your specific model before swapping.
