When to Choose a 6T Pinion

A 6-tooth pinion is useful when low-end torque and quicker throttle response matter more than outright top speed. Racers and club drivers often select this tooth count for tight track sections that reward strong acceleration.

How do I change the pinion gear safely?

Remove the motor, loosen the pinion set screw and slide out the old gear. Fit the new 6T pinion, align the mesh using a test strip, then tighten the set screw to the correct torque.

Will a 6T pinion affect top speed on track?

Switching to a 6-tooth pinion increases torque and acceleration but typically lowers maximum top speed compared with larger pinions. Choose based on the circuit layout and driving style.
