If you raced or collected in the heyday of RC, the Kyosho Javelin returns with updated engineering while keeping its classic character. First released in 1986, the model has been reissued in Kyosho's Legendary Series to blend vintage styling with current component standards.
The updated Javelin uses a resin pipe-frame body that echoes the original aluminum look, paired with a narrow backbone-type skid frame. Its double wishbone suspension gives robust geometry for wide steering angles, and the sealed 4WD chain-drive layout delivers consistent durability across varied surfaces.
Power is managed by a counter gear with a slipper function inside a metal final gear case to improve load handling. The precision 48-pitch gear set helps keep power losses low, and a mix of nylon and sintered alloy parts reduces wear and noise. Builders can run the standard chain drive or fit an optional belt system according to preference.
Color choices preserve the original vibe with white, pastel green and fluorescent yellow roll cages, while newer red and black options add variety. The aluminium inner roll bar and revised wing stay increase toughness and aerodynamic stability, and the chassis accepts the Optima wing with only small changes.
This kit appeals to collectors and club racers who want authentic looks plus practical modern upgrades. It balances display value with track-capable engineering.
