The Porsche 944 line, produced from 1982 to 1991, is an important chapter in sports car history. Building on the 924 platform, the 944 kept the flowing profile while introducing engineering upgrades. The original car used a 2479cc fuel injected engine rated at 163 horsepower and used a transaxle layout for improved balance.
The 944 S, released in 1987, upgraded to a 16-valve head producing 189 horsepower and could reach 0 to 100 km/h in about 7.2 seconds. The 944 S Cabriolet, introduced around 1989, provided an open-top option that appealed to buyers in the US market and beyond.
This Italeri 1/24 kit captures the distinctive lines of the 944 S Cabrio and gives builders a chance to recreate that convertible look with accurate proportions. The parts layout and engraved details suit hobbyists who enjoy period-correct modelling and careful assembly work.
