The Ju 87 Stuka is an iconic World War II dive bomber, instantly recognised by its inverted gull wings and distinctive silhouette. This Italeri kit focuses on the variants used by the Italian Regia Aeronautica in the early 1940s, commonly known as "Picchiatello", which saw service over Malta, North Africa and wider Mediterranean operations.
Employed for precision dive-bombing, the Ju 87 proved effective in the early stages of the war. Around 150 of these aircraft were supplied to the Italian air force and played a role in several campaigns. Building this Italeri model gives hobbyists a hands-on link to that chapter of aviation history.
This 1/48 scale model is aimed at modellers who value historical accuracy and fine detail. The kit contains a super decals sheet covering five different versions, a photo-etched fret for subtle detailing, and colour instruction sheets to guide assembly. Glue and paint are required to complete the model.
