This Italeri 15765 model kit gives military modellers a chance to assemble the Sd. Kfz. 182 Panzer VI Ausf. B, widely known as the King Tiger. Produced from mid-1944, the vehicle represented a major step beyond the Tiger I with a revised chassis, stronger frontal armor profile, and the long 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 main gun.
The King Tiger combined heavy protection with mobility driven by a Maybach V-12 engine, reaching road speeds up to 42 km/h despite a combat weight near 70 tonnes. Production used two turret types, the early Porsche style and the later Henschel design, both supporting substantial onboard ammunition loads.
At 1/56 scale this kit balances display detail and straightforward assembly, making it a solid choice for tabletop gamers and diorama builders. The set includes one crew figure to add realism and context to scenes inspired by actions such as the Normandy fighting in July 1944.
