The Italeri 1417S kit recreates the HSS-1 Seabat, the Sikorsky helicopter introduced in the mid-1950s that became a core asset for anti-submarine work in the United States Navy. This 1/72 scale kit gives modellers the chance to build a faithful static replica with attention to cockpit and airframe detail.
The original HSS-1 Seabat carried depth charges and aerial torpedoes as part of its anti-submarine loadout and was powered by the Wright R-1820 Cyclone engine, reaching speeds around 200 km/h. The kit includes a super decal sheet covering three different marking options so builders can pick their preferred scheme.
