The Italeri 1374S model kit recreates two celebrated World War I fighters: the British S.E.5a and the German Albatros D.III. Both types saw heavy action over the Western Front in 1917. The Albatros D.III, flown by top aces such as Manfred von Richthofen, called the "Red Baron", could reach speeds around 175 km/h and was fitted with twin Spandau machine guns. The S.E.5a supported the Royal Flying Corps with a combination of Vickers and Lewis machine guns and was prized for its speed and handling.
