Lightweight Performance Pinion from HUDY

The HUDY 294018 Aluminium ULTRA-LIGHT Pinion Gear has been developed to improve drivetrain response for serious RC car builders. This 18 tooth pinion, matched to a 48-pitch system, delivers a light yet strong option for precision gearing and long-lasting service.

Benefits of the Hard-Coated Aluminium Design

Manufactured from premium aluminium and treated with a hard coat, the pinion resists wear and keeps gear faces running smoother for longer. Its low mass lowers rotating weight, helping acceleration and reducing load on the motor during race or practice laps.

Race-Focused Weight Savings

Reducing unsprung and rotational weight makes a measurable difference in lap times. The HUDY 18T pinion provides quicker throttle response and less friction thanks to the hard coating, which also helps control operating temperature under heavy use.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some HUDY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 8-12 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Most 1/10 scale gearboxes set up for 48-pitch pinions will accept an 18T. Check the pinion bore and motor shaft diameter to confirm fit or use an adaptor sleeve if needed.
Use a thin shim or feeler to establish a snug mesh without binding. Run the car briefly at low load, then recheck and fine tune mesh after the coating seats in.
Yes, the hard-coated aluminium handles high RPM applications, but monitor motor temps and choose gear ratios that keep the motor within its safe operating range.
