The Soviet T-35 heavy tank is a standout example of interwar armour design, notable for its unconventional five-turret layout that set it apart from contemporary machines. Although production was limited and many examples were lost to mechanical failure during Operation Barbarossa, the T-35 remains an interesting project for history-minded modellers because of its complex engineering and cramped crew spaces.
Introduced in the 1930s as a symbol of mechanised might, the T-35 had significant presence on parade grounds but proved vulnerable in combat because of reliability problems and difficult maintenance. Its large external silhouette hid very tight internal compartments, which affected crew operations under fire.
The Hobby Boss 1/35 kit captures many of the T-35s unique elements. With more than 630 parts, builders will find multi-slide turret components and a detailed lower hull. The inclusion of three photo-etched parts and copper cable offers extra realism, making this a rewarding, detail-focused build for experienced hobbyists.
