The GAZ-AA began as the Soviet take on the Ford Model AA and served as a dependable work truck for the Red Army from 1932 to 1942. Its four-cylinder 40 HP engine could push the vehicle to around 70 km/h, letting it handle supply runs, troop transport and ambulance duties. Wartime adaptations also allowed the chassis to carry armament such as the 25-mm anti-aircraft gun or a set of Maxim machine guns.
This 1/35 scale kit by Hobby Boss includes over 230 precisely molded plastic parts that recreate the GAZ-AA form. The package features detailed rubber tyres and a set of photo-etched parts to improve scale realism. Finished dimensions are approximately 149.6mm long and 56mm wide, giving a compact but true-to-scale model.
Building the model rewards careful assembly and attention to small parts. Clear parts and newly tooled pieces are included to ensure accurate representation of the vehicle. Once completed, the truck makes a solid display piece for military vehicle collections or diorama scenes.
