Hobby Boss 1/35 Sd.Kfz.221 Leichter Panzerspahwagen Overview

The Sd.Kfz.221 Leichter Panzerspahwagen served as a light armoured reconnaissance car in World War II, handling a range of duties on paved roads and rough terrain. Its operational record shows it was versatile on European roads but could be challenged by varied ground conditions from the Western Front to North Africa.

Kit details and assembly notes

This 1/35 scale kit from Hobby Boss gives modellers a chance to recreate that period vehicle with high fidelity. The kit contains more than 310 plastic parts across 14 sprues and includes both upper and lower hull halves moulded for accurate fit. Photo-etched components are supplied to lift the level of surface detail and realism.

Realism and Craftsmanship

The hulls use multi-directional slide moulding and the tyres are moulded in rubber, which together add to the finished realism. The detailed interior parts let builders open up the model and depict crew areas and fittings with care.

Specifications

This kit suits intermediate to experienced modellers; the number of small parts and photo-etched pieces mean steady hands and some prior armour kit experience are helpful.
Decals come in the box, but paints are not included. For the best finish use enamel or acrylics designed for plastic models and follow reference photos for period schemes.
Use fine tweezers, a sharp hobby knife and a bending tool for neat folds. Test-fit parts dry first and consider superglue sparingly to avoid visible residue.
