The USS Vincennes (CG-49) was commissioned on July 6, 1985 and served as a capable Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser. Fitted with guided missiles, rapid-fire close-in weapon systems, electronic jammers and two Seahawk helicopters, the ship played roles in anti-submarine and anti-ship operations as well as personnel transfers.
The Hobby Boss 82502 USS Vincennes CG-49 kit captures the key lines and fittings of the cruiser for serious model builders and naval history fans. The parts allow you to represent the ship as it operated alongside carrier groups, detecting and tracking multiple contacts at once. The real vessel served until decommissioning on June 29, 2005 in San Diego.
With careful assembly and finishing, this model becomes an eye-catching display that reflects the Vincennes service history, including recognition like the Combat Action Ribbon and the National Defense Medal.
