Precision wing servo built for tight spaces with Futaba S9154

The Futaba S9154 Digital High Speed Aileron Servo is designed for accurate, efficient control on model aircraft. Its low profile makes it a great choice for wing installations with limited depth and thin airfoils.

Coreless motor and fast digital control

With a coreless motor and digitally enhanced microprocessors, the S9154 reduces latency from stick input to surface movement. That faster, smoother action helps when flying aggressive maneuvers or trimming for exact control.

Specifications

  • Speed: 0.14 sec/60° at 4.8V
  • Torque: 64 oz/in (5.8 kg/cm) at 4.8V
  • Dimensions: 1.9" x 1.1" x 1.0" (48mm x 28mm x 25mm)
  • Weight: 1.9 oz (53g)
  • Power Supply: 4.8V (not recommended for 6V use)

Mounting and power recommendations

Make sure your power source can cope with the high current draw of a digital servo. Keep servo leads short and avoid Y-harnesses where possible; use heavier gauge wire for long runs. Inspect pushrods and control horns for any binding to prevent excess load on the motor and battery.

The S9154 works with most contemporary receivers and standard PWM outputs, but some very old AM-only transmitters or nonstandard output formats may not be compatible. Check your receiver output type before installation.
Use a stable 4.8V supply that can deliver the burst current the servo may demand. Avoid pushing it at 6V since the manufacturer does not recommend that voltage for this model.
Plan for a low-profile cutout and support the servo with a firm but minimal mount to keep flex down. Test control surface movement through the full travel to ensure no rubbing or binding occurs inside the wing cavity.
