Better drift control with the Yokomo Y2-SBBSRA shocks

The Yokomo Y2-SBBSRA Super Low Friction (SLF) Aluminum Big Bore Shock Set is built for the YD-2 chassis and targets drivers wanting cleaner slides and steadier on-track balance. The larger cylinder diameter increases dampening range compared to standard shocks, helping to stabilise the car during transitions and cornering.

Kashima Coat for lower friction

The shock cylinders feature a Kashima Coat finish to reduce surface friction and deliver smoother shaft action. That smoother movement helps to tame the small vibrations from resin tyres and improves grip and control when carrying speed through drifts.

Added capacity for consistent handling

Longer bodies and increased internal volume give these shocks more oil capacity, which aids stability and predictable feedback. The result is finer tuning potential for on-road racers who need repeatable handling in competitive drifting.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The Kashima Coat lowers internal friction so the shaft moves more freely. That results in smoother damping, less stickiness on rebound, and improved traction feel, especially with high-rebound tyre setups.
These shocks are specified for the YD-2 chassis. Minor geometry checks are recommended if you run heavily modified suspension arms or alternate mounts.
Start with medium weight shock oil and stock springs, then tune oil weight and preload in small steps. Check shaft condition and seals during installation to prevent leaks.
