Tamiya 15547 - Spike Tire & Wheel Set EZ for trail use

This Tamiya 15547 Spike Tire & Wheel Set is built to improve off-road capability on Mini 4WD models with the EZ chassis. The spike profile is tuned to help cars climb slopes and handle rough ground, making it a practical choice for hobbyists focused on trail driving and bumpy layouts.

Design and Fit

The kit contains four spike-style tires moulded in black elastomer and four gun metal polypropylene wheels. The spikes give superior bite on uneven surfaces and help uphill traction. Note that these wheels are designed to work with the hex shafts used on Trail Mini 4WD kits and are not intended for standard Mini 4WD race cars. Some body trimming or clearance checks may be needed to fit them on certain EZ chassis builds.

Can I use these wheels on a race track?

No. These wheels are engineered for rough terrain and slope performance rather than flat race circuits where slick or low-profile tyres perform better.

Will the Tamiya 15547 set fit any EZ chassis without changes?

They are intended for EZ chassis models but some bodies or mounts might need trimming to clear the larger spike profile. Always test-fit before final assembly.

What materials are used for the tyres and wheels?
